The Visual Education Committee plans a survey of science films and will consider social studies after testing. A broadened rental program will allow more films for classroom evaluation, with a purchase list if tests prove effective. A handbook on visual aids and classroom techniques is prepared.
A $100 check was presented to the Orthopedic School by Floyd Kishline at a Legion clubroom dinner of Voiture 410, 40 and a Society. Mrs. Catherine Burgess and Miss Betty Anderson accepted on behalf of the school, noting needs for specialized cats and a teaching typewriter. Chef de Guere Art Berg presided, and Harvey Culbertson introduced Kishline while outlining 40 and 8 membership requirements.
Kenosha public schools collected 679 for the annual Easter seal sale, the highest total in three years. Ida Fiddler, 78, longtime Salem resident for 14 years, died Thursday at the Kenosha hospital. Born June 10, 1867 in Lake Villa Illinois, she was the daughter of John and Laura Fiddler and lived previously in Antioch and Bristol. She had no church affiliation and is survived by a sister-in-law Mrs. Mary Parks of Antioch.
Mrs. George Bostetter reports repeated unrequested taxi services and junk dealer visits to 7312 Thirty fourth Avenue in Kenosha. Police received the nuisance report after a taxi and junk dealer arrived simultaneously at 2:30 PM on a weekday.
A collage of ads and small notices lists builders like Camosy Construction and W J Steinway for frame homes on Wilson road plus Easter specials from Bernacchi Pharmacy and Bernacchi’s baskets. Police court fines appear for individuals including Richard D Pearce and Clifford Francis Thom. Turkeys, Easter goods, plus dances and bowling times fill the local activity slate.
The Wisconsin Department of Taxation reported city property values in 1945 at 2 956 842 672 dollars up from 1944 by about 18 million. Village property rose from 346 400 228 to 366 308 866. Over 25 years city values exceeded one billion dollars growth while villages gained about 113 million. Kenosha city values reached 73 703 870 up 203 020 from 1944. Twin Lakes village and Silver Lake also posted gains. Major city totals include Milwaukee 1 018 446 505 and Madison 156 049 010 with others listed.
A 16 year old rural Kenosha boy was captured after a North Shore train blocked detectives returning to a Sunnyside Drug store robbery. He admitted taking gum and four other shoplifting incidents at local drug stores and was charged with petty larceny.
Kenosha detectives probe the disappearance of $700 cash from Grand Tavern at 2506 Fifty Second Street between Friday noon and Saturday night. The money, kept in a tin container at the end of the bar, belonged to Mitchell and Stanley Ginkowski. No entry evidence found. several customers present Saturday. Only other person involved is their mother, Mrs Anna Ginkowski.
Milwaukee reports producers serving the area will receive a 15 cent per hundredweight increase for their milk. The notice appears in a brief Milwaukee dairy bulletin.

Mrs. Anna Zyzmiewski died Thursday morning in Racine after a lingering illness. She leaves two daughters in Kenosha named Mrs. Tofilla Bojmiewicz and Mrs. Elizabeth Serzant.
Milton Lapidus of 1618 Sixty second Street is among sixteen University of Wisconsin students considered for outstanding Junior man and outstanding Junior woman honors. The agri cultural college student is among those under review as Madison announces the selection.
The Wisconsin Alumni Association will distribute $100 to each of the recipients.
