New state rail rules issued by railroad commission
The state railroad commission announces new regulations covering tickets mileage books passenger facilities and reporting. Rules include 30 day continuous travel for state tickets 6 month redemption cash refunds, first class mileage books up to 2000 miles for 50 dollars, and use of back up hoses on rear platforms. Also seating waiting rooms lighting sanitation and bulletin boards for train arrivals and obstructions.

N P Sells Kiona Ditch To Development Co
The Kiona ditch sells to Kiona Development Co guided by J J Rudkin and A Kechter of North Yakima. The North Coast Railway Co is suspected to fund the purchase which includes 300 acres of Kiowa ditch land still owned by Northern Pacific. Consent from all property owners under the ditch is required to release Northern Pacific from liability. The deal clears right of way for the North Coast over four to five miles.

Big Picking Yields 13 Percent Crates of Berries

Rumor Buys Three Acres for Depot Site North of Kennewick

Drowning Tragedy at Washington Ranch Claims 14 Year Old
Harry Garber fourteen son of Mr and Mrs G Garber drowned in a pond on his father's wheat ranch near Reardon Washington. He had been living at the ranch attracted by the stock and animals and had been in poor health with a weak heart. A ranch hand found the boy near the pond after Harry wandered off with his dog and did not respond to calls. Despite efforts to revive him the boy died.

Rancher Builds River Boat For Columbia River Use
Edward Stone of a Union Gap area ranch constructs a thirty two foot passenger and freight packet with a seventeen foot beam. The twin screw craft will run on a gasoline engine and be moved to the Columbia River on two wagons. Launch is expected early next month.
