Manila reports two weeks of combat on Jolo between U S troops led by General Leonard Wood and Moro Chief Pala with 600 armed men. Pala’s forces suffer about 300 dead while Wood’s side has seven killed and 19 wounded. Pala’s band is driven into a swamp as pursuit continues.
