House and Contents Destroyed in Section 7 Fire
The Widrig residence in Section 7 was consumed by a Monday fire thought to start from a defective flue. Neighbors and a bucket brigades fought flames to save nearby outbuildings, but the home and furniture, valued at 2000 dollars, were lost. The Widrigs had just renewed a 1150 dollar policy with local agent Richard Stanton. The family now tents on site while plans to rebuild follow summer work.

Death calls Mrs Osterberg in Fruitvale
Mrs C E Osterberg, 70, died at the home of her daughter Mrs G W Snow in Fruitvale after a brief illness tied to travel strain from Kansas City. She died of heart trouble after a quiet bedside goodnight. Survived by daughter and husband. Body sent to Kansas City for interment. family left for Kennewick.
