Benton county votes to form livestock district in 1912
The Benton county Board of Commissioners on June 3 1912 set June 3 hearing date for petitions from W E Thornton and C E Shivers to form a district prohibiting livestock from running at large. The district covers parts of Sections 7 10 11 14 15 16 17 20 21 22 23 24 between the Columbia River and the North Pacific Irrigation Canal in Township 8 North Range 30 East W M. Fines apply after publication date. The notice also contains state constitutional amendment proposals to recall elective public officers with recall thresholds 25 or 35 percent depending on office and a ballot wording section for the November 1912 election.
