A farmers institute led by experts from the state agricultural experiment station at Pullman will visit Kennewick on February 26 and 27. The program features orchard management lectures, dairy and poultry topics, and a poultry demonstration car open to the public Tuesday afternoon. County commissioners require an immediate road crossing at the end of the O W R N bridge east of town after a dispute with railroad officials. A compromise favors an overhead crossing with a 20 foot roadway, up to 4 percent grade, fine gravel surface, and a four foot river side fence.

Mountney Bros plan to install a large incubator from DeWitt New York at their poultry ranch in a stone cellar. The 3000 egg capacity unit costs 375 and will operate by early next week with first setting about the 20th. It uses anthracite coal heated wood and will hatch five times this season yielding about ten thousand chicks.
