Benton County Assessed Valuation Rises Substantially

Assessor Harry Van Horn reports the county's total valuation at 4 256 430, nearly doubling the Yakima and Klickitat total. Real property stands at 3 600 050 and personal at 656 380 with the Northern Pacific valued at 660 410. The higher assessment may lower next year’s levy despite this year’s roughly three mill increase due to 25 600 in start up costs. Local residents were noted in several social mentions and harvest activity along with a mislaid bale of sacks recovered at Kelso’s store or by Will Dennis.
