Clark to Wash Gold on Homle Island with New Pump
T. F. Clark has received a special centrifugal pump he invented for placer mining on Homle Island. The device can move 200 miner's inches per minute and will be powered by a gas line engine. He has three placer claims and expects to wash 5,000 yards of gravel yielding about 40 cents per yard in fine gold. With three men, output ranges 800 to 1,500 yards per day, profitable in low water. In the growing season, the machinery will irrigate 100 acres on the island. Clark is currently in California attending mining interests there.
