Fair managers offer a $75 donation to the owner of the horse achieving the best time at the Kendallville meeting next week if the time beats the track record by 2.12 percent. The current record was set by Col. Strathmore the Butler pacer in 1904. Several fast horses are expected to contend in the 2:13 pacing race next week.
In Goshen Indiana on September 18 a Winona Interurban car struck an elderly couple seated in a spring wagon as they crossed the tracks north of town. The Joneses aged eighty four and eighty five were instantly killed. The pair resided near Leesburg.
R. S. Fox of Springfield Massachusetts shipped a car load of twenty horses from here to his home town Tuesday night. Fox has handled Noble county horses and buys the best to add to his stock.
Miss Vesta Freed of Los Angeles marries J H Simpson of Pasadena Cal in a Wednesday eve ceremony at the bride’s parents Los Angeles home. Fifty guests attended a luncheon as green white pink decor and a wedding bell backdrop framed the event.
The North Brothers Comedians present The Prince of Gamblers at Boyer opera house Monday with free admission for ladies. They launch a week of repertoire in Kendallville and will also perform The Little Princess The Wizard of Wall Street The Broad my Detective An American Hustler and The Parish Priest plus a full ladies orchestra.
