Mrs. Goldard a Swedish resident in Waterloo and a Chicago companion sought shelter under a tree as a storm neared a bolt struck the tree sending intense heat through the trunk severely burning Mrs. Goldard and tearing off a shoe while her companion suffered minor facial and hand burns. No serious injuries are expected.
