Attempted Hold Up on Main Street Ends Quick
A man behind attacked John D. Kelly near the Lake Shore tracks on Main Street about 11 PM. Kelly struck the assailant with a heavy blow, then fled toward home with two more men appearing. Kelly and Elroy Shauck searched the area with no arrests. the suspects likely escaped on a passing freight train.
