In the Lincoln School shoe repair shop pupils fixed over 150 pairs last year with wholesale-cost materials. A sewing machine and a skivers machine were installed this week to save labor and material. A new price schedule was sent to patrons as students, under Mr. Harry L. Watkins, director, boost the shop. The school cafeteria, the city’s first among colored schools, grows in popularity with pennies lunches near cost and a dozen daily menu items. The editor was invited to a Grand Master W W Fields banquet but couldn’t attend due to a speaking tour in Indiana.
