The Jackson county county home project will witness the corner stone laid by the Negro Masons of Missouri on Sept 15 at noon and 2 30 PM. Dr Howard M Smith conceived the event with the Masonic Grand Lodge and a large International Building Laborers Union delegation led by Charles Harris will assist. A Black choir led by A T Moore plus a band will provide music. Rev F D Wells oversees devotional exercises.

Revival Pastor Dr J W Hurse Leads St Stephens Mission
The likeness of Dr J W Hurse pastor of St Stephens Baptist church marks the end of a seven week revival. He and members moved from 604 606 Charlotte street to a tent at 12th and Michigan, aided by Drs C T Walker R B Porter C McNeal and Moses Williams to save seventy nine souls and raise 2787 15. They returned to the church decor at 604 606 Charlotte street for winter. The congregation gave the pastor a six week rest and a purse of 201 15 before his National Convention trip to Little Rock Hot Springs and Collierville returning mid October.
