Resolutions Adopted by Catholic Societies Reform Gen Afro Policy
At the sixteenth annual convention of the American Federation of Catholic Societies in Chicago August 26 to 29 the Negro Contingent secured a strong resolution promoting fair play and justice for Negroes. The motion urged humane government action to secure rights, backed by Bishop Joseph Schrembs of Toledo who endorsed the Colored Roman Catholic Bureau. Captain L C Valle led the presentation with Mr. and Mrs. Cooper, managers of the Colored Roman Catholic Bureau, aiding the effort.
