Mallory Funeral Largely Attended in Jacksonville
The funeral of Prink Mallory, held Sunday at Mt Emory Church, drew a large cross section of Jacksonville's Black community. Rev. E N Scruggs led the service with assistance from Rev. H H DeWitt and Rev. J W Muse, a choir, and solo by Shelby Nichols. Burial followed in Jacksonville cemetery with bearers John King Charles Jackson Moscow Sutton Adison Berry Clute Burghirt and Edward Berry.

TO TRAIN NEGRO OFFICERS IN A RESERVE CAMP
San Francisco May 17 independent training camp for Negro officers will be established soon in the Western army department. All Negroes recommended for reserve commissions will be excused from other duty until the camp is established. San Antonio May 17 the War Department considers forming a camp to train Negroes as reserve officers for Negro regiments under the Selective Draft Bill. It may be located in a Northern city but no decision yet. Applicants previously told to wait for adjustment.
