He demonstrated instrument imitation and piano artistry that astonished Bloomington audiences, recounting his early life from tin whistle to mouth organ, and his long touring career now in its thirty third season.

In Plattsburg Missouri a Negro surgeon performed a surgical operation for Dr. E B Beers of Trimble at the request of Mrs Jalla M P May who insisted the procedure be done by a Black physician. Dr J B Perry of the Perry Sanitarium assisted, with Dr Gideon W Brown aiding for about three years.
