Death of Charles H. Lewis Shocks Kansas City Masons
Charles Henry Lewis, a prominent Kansas City Mason and Allen Chapel worker, died Sunday afternoon at 1 20 p m after a sudden stroke at the Ma annie Temple. He presided over a joint committee meeting for a trolley party to Leavenworth on May 14, and his death came without warning as colleagues aided him at his desk. He leaves a wife Eloise Covington Walker and a community of Masons and church members who remember him as a devoted leader. Funeral services will be held at Allen Chapel with a midnight Consistory ritual and a Sunday service, followed by interment in Louisiana, Missouri.
