The St Luke M E church of St Joseph Missouri closed an eight days revival with good results. Rev F P Douglass evangelist of Kansas City Missouri assisted. Twelve converts joined the church and four others were saved who will unite elsewhere. Rev Douglass is a rent worker and a good preacher. W J Deboe, Pastor.
Mrs J Collins of 949 Everett street is with Inerione. The Art Clubs cleared 49.52 at their charity concert. Mr J Fitzghugh of 822 Freeman avenue to fit at his home. Mr Rowell Buckner fell at 817 Oakland avenue. The Club met with Mrs Maselle Washington at 1309 N 10th street. The Merry Matrons met with Mrs Maud Jarrett Saturday afternoon. Hon Chas Stewart of Chicago visited Mr and Mrs Tilford Davis at 1716 Washington boulevard, meeting the ladies of A M E Church re knife and fork dinner on March 10. Large crowd expected. An enjoyable sunrise was given for Mrs Alicea Blam birthday at 20 Oakland. Many presents and guests. Metropolitan Baptist church King’s Daughters auxiliary to assist finances met March 1 with 57 members. Opening day. meet first and third Mondays. many visitors all afternoon. Church decorated. local committee served meals. A grand surprise for Mr and Mrs Ed Whittemore at 921 Freeman avenue last Tuesday at 10:30 pm. Carl Holland of Britr stops to see his parents, then heads to White Cloud. Despite bad weather a good crowd attends Ladies Aid at Mollie Brown’s, luncheon served. Mollie Wilkinson ill this week but improving.
A Senate committee reports unanimous support for a $79,000 appropriation to stage a Fifty Years of Negro Progress exhibit in Missouri in Chicago for the Free Anniversary celebration. Senators Green and Kinney cited as strong backers. Allah Temple No. 9 will host a session after business. Guest temples from Kansas City and Argentine join. musical performances and refreshments planned.
The executive committee of the Missouri Kansas Knights Templar Association will hold its annual session at Mt. Oread Commandery No. 6 in Lawrence Kansas on Sunday March 14 at 1 PM The group plans a silver Jubilee and a three to four day tournament may be held in Kansas City Saint Joseph or Topeka with a fair highlighting progress of Western Kansas and Missouri Negroes over 25 years The Lawrence session is billed as the association's most important to date with a large delegation expected.

Impressive Covenant services were held at Second Baptist church with Rev Downey of Sedalia and Rev Migkina delivering sermons. The Calendar club met at Rev and Mrs Coleman’s with 23 members, officers elected, and a two course collation. The Kings’ Daughters held annual services at Second Hapitat church. Mrs Bertha Ferris and Mrs Francaise Ratterbury noted. Mrs Mattie Noel entertained the Mission Circle. the circle grows in numbers and finance. Brother Lewis Brown is somewhat indisposed.

George W. Perkins partner of the late J. P. Morgan and Wall Street banker was saved from drowning when a fishing smack overturned in the St Lucie Inlet near Stuart Florida. A skilled Black fisherman battled heavy waves to haul Perkins to a sandbar and safety.

David Collier aged 55, a well known sporting man who ran a pool hall at 91 McGee Street, was killed by a policeman following a quarrel over snow removal. A coroner’s jury cleared the officer. The funeral was planned under Progress Lodge K of P auspices. he leaves a wife, a brother, and other relatives.
