Colored Nurses to Be Used in Army Camps in War Effort
News from the War Department states colored nurses registered with the Red Cross may serve in the Army. They will be assigned to base hospitals at Camp Funston Fort Riley Camp Grant Camp Dodge Camp Taylor Camp Sherman and Camp Dix to serve about 38000 colored troops. Pershing has been asked by cable about deploying nurses with the American Expeditionary Forces.

Fifty Thousand Negro Registrants Called for Service
Washington July 23 Fifty thousand Negro registrants qualified for general military service were called to the colors today by Provost Marshal General Crowder. They will entrain between August 1 and 5 from forty one states and the District of Columbia. Note It is said 1200 will go from Kansas City Mo and Jackson County and 400 from Kansas City Kansas.
