The Kansas City Sun reports a large picnic for its Newsies at Swope Park with forty two attendees. They traveled by Special Car, enjoyed pony rides, baseball, foot races and scouting, with meals and treats provided.
Associated Negro Press reports Dallas residents rallied to support Dr. Bundy after attorney W. C. Hueston of Kansas City spoke on the Bundy trial at the New Pythian Temple under the Inter-Denominational Ministerial Alliance. A doctors group led by Dr. A H Dyson and others backs the effort as ministers plan a formal organization next week.
Deputy N S Adkins spoke at the District Convention of the American Woodmen held at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Kansas City Kansas. Representatives came from Oklahoma Arkansas Kansas and Missouri. He described the organization as a business for the race and praised a Negro doctor who shifted from rough beginnings to modern practice. The address referenced Woodmen offices at 1612 BE 12th Street and Adkins residence.
The American Woodmen hold a large installation and informal musical program on Friday night July 25 at Lyric Hall. Officers for the coming year will be installed by State Supervisor W A Campbell. headline entertainer Mrs A Moore sings a set, promising a soothing performance. Music and dancing follow. Admission 25 cents with tickets at Woodmen office 1612 BE 12th.
A summary of lynching records shows 28 people were lynched in the first half of 1919, compared with 85 in early 1918 and 14 more than 1917. Among victims 25 were Negroes and 3 White, seven charged with rape, and one woman listed. States reporting cases include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.
Mrs. Caesar Porter appears in leading East cities and Canada and performs in New York on July 30 under the Olympic League auspices. She plans a two week visit to Atlantic City, drawing high praise from Eastern critics who call her a sprite little artist.

Clarence R. Van Allen corporal of Company L 372nd Infantry Regiment earned France's Médaille Militaire the highest honor for an enlisted man after single handedly disabling a German machine gun crew killing four and capturing three. Northeastern Department officers honored him in Boston where he previously worked as a waiter.
Mrs Celia Brosfield of 2013 Wyandotte Street and Miss Louisa Lewis of 2015 Wyandotte left Sunday morning July 1 for a two week visit in Chicago Illinois as guests of Mrs Cleo Columbus Fight, daughter of Mrs Brosfield.

Allen Chapel Y W OC A Club will meet Friday July 1 at the home of Mrs America Robinson 212 Tracy Ave. L A J Mc Campbell and Mrs J R E Lee attended the State Federation of Women s Clubs at Columbia. Campaign subscriptions are still coming in. For June 404.10 was received. The total amount to date is 4 525 02. The Girl Reserve Corps meet regularly and enjoy hikes picnics and swimming. Fifth grade girls of Attucks School hiked from the Y M C A to Cliff Drive and back. Sixth grade girls of Douglass School and Wendell Phillips School enjoyed an outing to Budd Park. The N A C Club the girls of Booker T Washington School and the fifth grade girls of W W Yates School went on a plenice to Swope Park. Some Girl Reserves who can get to the Bath Houses at 9 00 a m Saturday are getting good sport bathing. Last Tuesday the Sophomore girls of L H S met at 9 30 A M at the Y M C A and went to Swope Park hiked from the car line to the Monument.

In a Monday night meeting on July Tth fourteen young ministers agreed to begin Bible study using purchased books over $40. A building at 21st and Flora will host sessions with instructor Rev. J. Patten on Tuesday and Thursday nights. President Rev. H. W. Webb praised the work, and sermon by Rev. G. W. Hendricks impressed attendees. A service with Rev Robt Burhside is set for Monday July 14 at Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs Marion Stapleton hosted a surprise birthday party for her husband Mr Marion Stapleton with many guests. A social afternoon involved Mesdames Louis Mosely and Hayes, and Mr Irving Johnson is at his residence. Alfred Davis and family recently returned from Chicago. Daniel Benson of Ottawa Kansas entertained Rev McManna with a five course dinner on June 23, with guests including Mrs R H Wilson Sterling Kansas Mrs G W Carson Kansas City and Mrs Frank Weaver Milwaukee Wisconsin.
The charming and capable President of the State Federation of Women's Clubs presided with dignity at the federation's greatest session, held last Tuesday and Wednesday in Columbia, Missouri.
Beginning Monday month marks the Sth anniversary of pastor Rev. H. C. Katewood. The deacon led a session on the Duty of Members to the Church and Rev. T. Mowby spoke on Taking a Journies. Sister Mary Williams sang. Other nightly sermons covered Well Doing, Short Finding, and God’s leaders. Friday prayer meetings and a four o clock sermon by Rev. A. A Banks. Collection totaled 75.15 for the pastor. Sunday night Rev. J. C. China preached at Pilgrim Rear Baptist. Death of Prof. John A. Jackson in Columbus Ohio noted as a scholarly educator and uncle of Prof. Robin G. Jackson. sympathy extended to his widow Mrs Ida Joyce Jackson.
Last Sunday featured a Women's Day sermon by Dr. Shaw and an afternoon program by the warden. Rev. L. Ingram led the evening service. The Millionaire Wedding directed by Theo Drury drew a crowd Monday night. The Christian Endeavor Society plans a channel in honor of the pastor next Tuesday. Members urged to attend next Sunday, the conference year's last.

Caldwell A M D D and unanimously endorses him for the Bishopric In 1920 The convention also thanks State Superintendent H N Newsome DPD DLL PD and unanimously endorses him for any church position.
In Sunny July 1849 a five hundred dollar rally organized by Clark Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church and assisted by Centennie Mo RE. Church and friends aims to raise funds. Events begin 11:00 am at Clark Chapel 1664 Madison Street and 2:00 pm at Centennial Leth and Woodland Ave with preaching by Rev W T Osborn and Rev Prenton Overton.
Bethel A M E Church and Rev. T H Wiseman led a business rally in Columbia to raise a grand total of 7144.08 dollars. Mandels Division claimed a large prize by reporting debt payoff of 1024.10 dollars, highlighting Wiseman's growing influence in the city.

Washington July 10 The House sustained a point of order by Representative Ragsdale of South Carolina that appropriations for Howard University were not legally authorized and they were struck from the sundry bill totaling 80,360. Chairman Good noted the item has been removed in past years with Senate restoration, and the conferees likely to follow the same course again.
The Sunday School Convention of the M E Church met at Ft Scott on Wednesday July 2. Officers elected include Mrs Mamie Williams of Topeka as President Mrs Lottie Story of Eldorado as Secretary and Mrs Reed of Newton as Treasurer. Sermons and papers were presented by Rev Crutchfield Rev Young Rev Goodall and others. The convention raised 60.30 and praised Ft Scott for hospitality.
