As we go to press the death reported is BE L Ward a prominent Mason and longtime Allen Chapel officer. He served over twenty years at the First National Bank and had been married just a few months ago and had been ill for only a few days.

A large audience braved freezing weather to view Jack and the Beanstalk performed by 60 Ebenezer A M E Church youth in four acts. The production featured a star turn by Charles Singleton as Jack and included notable scenes and a conservation of food message. The event praised by pastor Rev Osborne and director Mrs Osbornes team with fine music by Mrs Belle Jones and Maurice Johnson.

The fifty fifth anniversary of the Emancipation Celebration was held by the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of greater Kansas City at Centennial M E church. Hon C H Calloway spoke on Day we Celebrate and Miss Mary Whiteside read a paper. Rev D A Holmes gave a rousing address as Mrs Nelle Mendricks directed. A silver offering supported Negro charities. attendance was sadly small.
