Idaho state representative John Y White, a Democrat from Compton, remained in custody on a disorderly conduct charge after a dispute over a traffic ticket. A blaze in Oxford Mississippi on April 2 damaged the fire house causing about 4000 dollars in losses. Volunteers fought the fire with buckets as the hose was burned away while the fire engine was saved.
In Washington on April 2, Judge Thomas D. Quinn fined 18 year old Paul L. Marshall $50 or 30 days in jail for turning in a false alarm that drew eight fire engines. Marshall said he did it because his sister was suffering stomach cramps.
Investigators in Kansas City say no new clues have been uncovered in the gangland murder of Wolf C. Rimann. J E Taylor Missouri attorney general remains in city to oversee the Rimann case and nineteen other unsolved killings over the past three and a half years.

Fireman William Kinion died of a heart attack while fighting the flames. The structures were on U S highway 81 one block south of town. Kinion was 40 and survived by his wife and son. The Darrah estate and the lodge owned the buildings.
Frank E. O Connor, 58, of 131 East Forty sixth street, identified a man charged with robbing him of 124 dollars after his wallet was pierced by a bullet in his cafe on St Louis avenue. Police arrested the suspect following the incident.

Dr. 8 O Netherton, once convicted of his wife Edith Stahl Netherton's 1928 murder, has had his life sentence commuted to 30 to 45 years by Gov Frank Carlson, making him eligible for parole. The parole board will meet in June, with Netherton 80 and his prison record described as excellent. Charles Lubbes of Muskogee Oklahoma reported an unsuccessful attempt to hijack a $5,000 liquor load eight miles west of Lebanon Missouri. After a gunfight the hijackers fled and road blocks failed to stop them. Lubbes said a prior hijacking returned $7,000 in liquor in southwestern Missouri.
George William Neal aged 54, operator of a Springfield rooming house, died after swallowing a cupful of carbolic acid. Minutes earlier he had been served with eviction papers. Also advertised EMBEC Brush Creek Follies tonight at Ilvanhoe Temple at 8:30 p.m.
