Wealthy heir seeks enormous prize from famous sword
A San Francisco report says Miss Virginia Lewis reluctantly declined an offer of 0,000 for a famed ancestral sword once tied to George Washington. Her aunt Mrs. Grace Lee Lewis Mann claims the sword, and its value hinges on a chain of colonial connections including Governor Samuel Ogle and Washington’s family. The Metropolitan Museum of New York balks at a 50,000 gap, with Miss Lewis aiming for 700,000 as she pursues title to the heirloom for California.

Dirty Hree and the Crown Prince’s Bath Time Tale
A German tale recalls the Crown Prince's childhood antics at Potsdam. As a six or seven year old he delighted in watering sentries outside the castle and jealously despised cold baths. When he complained at breakfast about a sentry, the emperor said the guard could not recognize the dirty-faced prince, so no reprimand.
