Fire destroys barn and endangers town buildings
A broad fire last Friday morning leveled the barn of Mrs. Dr. Rogers and spread toward nearby homes. The en fire damaged Cape twin Hannum's house and could have razed the city hall, Auditorium, and Meloruth's feed and grain if the fire company had not acted swiftly. Firefighters saved Gordon's hikers and A Hart's fixture store, but the blaze would have swept most business blocks without their effort.
