Jesse Annals of Anderson County Uf Alentine Gerth born March 3 1820 in Saxony Germany. Came to St Louis 1852 then Kansas City before moving to Greeley area in 1854. He preempted land south of Greeley in 1856 and built the first house near the depot site. Married Mary Mackenberger September 1861 at Garnett. They lived on Lehrke farm then near Frank Ohmes farm north of Greeley. Six children Louise John Tillie Bettie Mary and George. Retired in Greeley enjoying a well spent life with Mrs Gerth. Myers later moved to Wa-baunsee County.
