Local Softball League Closes First Season
Pete Jacoby reports the season end with a championship game won by the Men’s Bible Class over the Baptists. The league spent about 2500 on lights equipment and operating costs while fans donated 2300 to retire indebtedness. Plans include bleachers for 5 6 hundred seats sod and general beautification of the diamond. Local citizens praised the effort and community pride in Kimble County.

Upper Llanos soil district to vote October 4
An election in two subdivisions of the Upper Llanos Soil Conservation District is set for Tuesday October 4 with polls opening at 2 p m. Subdivision 10 will elect a five year supervisor by landowners in the county court room. Subdivision V fills a four year unexpired term after H G Whitaker resigned. Clay Holland leads election in town. Whitaker acts as temporary chairman until a district chairman is chosen. Landowners are urged to vote and inquiries answered.
