Grass and forage nutrition for Texas range
Soil Conservation News reviews how protein and phosphorus levels in range forage vary by species season and soil fertility. Legumes and forbs often supply higher nutrients while cool season grasses peak in winter. A Texas study in Sutton Edwards Counties shows winter deficits, with sacahuiste and curly mesquite low in phosphorus and protein. Laboratory results should be paired with field observations for accurate livestock feeding guidance. Mrs Ellis Brown and Raymond Clark attended a San Angelo lecture by John W. Schaum. Bill Cunningham plans a fishing trip to Brownsville and Port Isabel.
