Italian Rye Provides Attractive Winter Lawns
County Agent R E Homan says the best West Texas lawns use Italian Rye Grass seeded broadcast into bermuda or other grasses to stay green through winter and spring. As temperatures rise, bermuda gradually replaces rye, keeping a pleasant lawn year round. Some shady areas can grow rye year round, and imported Italian Rye grass seed is available at cost, ten pounds enough for a normal lawn.
