West pasture gains through cedar clearance and cross fencing
Arthur Schulze reports a 250 acre pasture in the Upper Llanos Soil Conservation District now ranks among the best after a 1949 starting program and extensive cedar removal. He notes cross fencing, about 3100 feet, will pay off and allows better grazing control alongside Ted Kiser who added a mile of fencing across 700 acres boosting livestock by one third with improved labor savings and breeding management. Soil maps from the Soil Conservation Service aid plan development, with office in the Junction courthouse. Horton L Howard returned from San Antonio for a weekend visit.
