Ramona St Clair was surprised with a birthday party on her 11th birthday anniversary Sunday May 15 at her home hosted by her aunt Mrs Pearl Brown. Attendees included Mrs Roland St Clair and William Bryan son of Mr and Mrs W J Bryan of San Antonio.
Mrs Terry Jetton and Mrs W P Hendrix were elected delegates to the 21st District Convention in San Angelo May 21 22 at the American Legion Auxiliary meeting in the Legion Hut Friday evening May 13 Alternates named were Mrs J F Herring and Mrs Antoinette Wynne Mrs Floyd Little president and Mrs J A Cavaness secretary will also attend The annual report of the local unit will be made at the convention along with reports from other units A district president and assistant district president will be elected.
Woodmen of World and Woodmen Circle members hosted Family Night Tuesday at the W O W hall. About 75 attended for supper and brief talks by members. Kerrville visitors included district manager J E Koon. Initiation of new members was scheduled for the third Tuesday in June by consul Commander Walter W Leamons.
Social League matches set for Monday May 23 include City Cafe against Texan Beauty Shop and Guffey Drilling Co. versus Nelson Garage. Thursday May 26 features Piggly Wig gly against Sanders Funeral Home and Luckenbach Hardware against Wrights Cafe. Hill Country League games on Tuesday May 24 pit Silver Gables against T. J. Moore Lbr. Yard and Hotel Las Lomas against Dr. MacLaughlins Slipjoints. Friday May 27 lists Mt. View Lodge versus Texas Joe Hatter and Borden Company versus Kimble Supply Co.
Mrs Mildred M Snead says local AAA offices will set 1950 wheat allotments by June 1 and require reporting of all wheat acreage from 1941 and 1945-49 for eligibility. Reports must cover wheat grown on the producer's farm or any other farm. Cotton allotments will use a similar acreage record, with only about 125 of 300 cultivated-land operators having filed to date.
Mrs. Lawrence Reynolds led a Bible study while Mrs. Lester Land hosted Circle II of the Women of the Presbyterian Church Monday at her home. Miss Henrietta Hull presented birthday objectives. Refreshments were served to 12 attendees.
