First Rain Brings Hope Across Kimble County
Heavy rain fell across most of Kimble county Sunday night marking the first meaningful rainfall since late September. Totals varied from over an inch in Kerr and Mason areas to about three inches in Roosevelt, with hail accompanying a second shower Monday night. The spread was uneven, but the precipitation brightens prospects and forecasters hint at more rain soon.

Prevent Fly Menace by Burning Carcasses
Mr E M Peters connected with Sub Station No 14 between here and Sonora reported Rock Springs as harboring unusually numerous blow flies early in the season. He warned of potential stock losses from screw worms, urged prompt burning of dead animals and placement of fly traps, and called for concerted ranch effort to exterminate the pest.

Phillips Summers Marriage Quietly Unfolds Near Junction
John Phillips and Nannie Summers wed secretly on the 18th in Kerrville per Methodist minister. The couple, residents near Junction, recently finished a bungalow on Phillips ranch and plan to stay at home to friends in the nine miles southeast area. John, son of Mrs. S. E. Phillips, is a noted ranch and business man. Nannie, daughter of Mrs. W. W. Allen, is praised for her abilities. A letter notes R. S. Price will soon visit to spend the summer at his Tourist Camp above town on South Llano.
