Federal housing bill eyed as landmark shift for landlords
Capitol Hill reports last week highlighted a new federal housing bill and a long range agriculture measure. Senate action would authorize 16 billion dollars in grants and contributions and 2.75 billion for loans, with planners shifting from mass construction to subsidized low rentals in major cities. Parties note rising costs, limited new builds, and this likely marks only the start of federal involvement in housing.
