Rainfall Injury Up 50 Percent in 1955

Kimble County reports a holiday period with no deaths or serious injuries and only two traffic mishaps. W. M. Yeary notes the period ended at midnight Monday. Two Miami brothers were lightly hurt in the county’s first holiday crash near Junction on U. S. 290. A second accident near Buckhollow Store involved a Ford pickup and a Nash, with both drivers unhurt after the collision.

Last Quarter Income Tax Payment Due January 16

Taxpayers paying quarterly estimated income tax must mark January 16 as the deadline for the final installment on the 1955 estimate. Dery Beach of the Kerrville Revenue Service office notes the date also serves as the last day to amend a period declaration to avoid penalties for underestimation.

Special Call Meeting for ER Scout Workers

A special call meeting for Cub Scout workers is set for Tuesday January 10 at 7 30 p m in the home of Mr and Mrs Gene Jones. Funeral Rites for Robert F. Cannon Held in Junction

Graveside services for Robert F. Cannon 85 were held Wednesday in London cemetery with Walter W. Leamons Church of Christ minister presiding. Cannon died at home Tuesday after a month of illness leaving his wife 82, a nephew Robert Cannon of Spur, and a life spanning Montague to Oklahoma to Junction. He and Margaret Wright married in Oklahoma 60 years ago.
