In Sam Ashburn's Top of the Windmill column Joe Bishop, aged 70 and married 50 years, was seen helping Mrs. Bishop into her coat after finishing a meal at City Cafe. Ashburn finds the gesture unusually gallant for such a long marriage.
Gully Consert declares candidacy for Sheriff Tax Assessor and Collector of Kimble County runner in the Democratic primary on July 25. He emphasizes a record as a peace officer and pledges to enforce state laws. Attendees at a fat stock show in Mason included several named locals. Funeral attendance noted for Louis E Dunbar with P L Jones and Maurine Rowntree among visitors from Phoenix.

Charles Newton Murrah was born May 17 1934 in Leaky Texas and died February 21 1936 in Kimble County from intestinal influenza. Survivors include his parents six sisters one brother and many relatives. Funeral services were held February 22 at the Hilly Henderson residence with Elder Walter W Leamons in charge. Interment followed at Junction cemetery. A notice adds James O Rail will speak in Junction on the Townsend plan.
