Wild jail break sparks Fredericksburg chase
Last Monday in Fredericksburg loud screams echoed from the jail as Ed Saenger found one prisoner forcing him to lock up. Three inmates attempted a getaway in the rain, two were captured during the chase, and the third sought shelter at Rich Stehling’s home before being apprehended by the sheriff.

George W Cook Dies Sunday
George Washington Cook died Sunday at his home in the south part of town and was buried Monday in the local cemetery. Born in 1849 in Boone County Missouri he moved to Grayson County Texas about age 25 and later relocated for health reasons. He is survived by a daughter Mrs Ansel Baldwin and her husband who lived with him on his farm south of town.

School Play Success at Hawkins Riley Hall
On Tuesday night the basketball girls with local talent presented a three act comedy at Hawkins-Riley Hall titled Fun in a Chinese Laundry. Despite threatening weather a good crowd enjoyed about an hour and a half. Proceeds benefited the girls athletic club with a healthy balance after expenses. Cashier Oren C.
