Fort Worth Market Ends Steady With Broad Demand
Fort Worth buyers resisted price cuts as the market closed steady versus last week. Slaughter steers and yearlings sold $19.00 to $23.50 with two loads at 941 pounds. Hog prices rose to $17.25–$17.75 for good hogs while lambs topped near $18. The West Texas sheep country received rain and restocking heats up. Stocker cattle demand remains strong despite low finished-cattle prices. Secretary Glen Tole will judge Angus steers at the Fort Worth show September 9 with Marvin Couey selecting heifers.
