Traffic accident reported at race meet injures boy
Highway Patrolman 7.2s Jones investigated the only accident on Thursday afternoon at the race meet. Craig Moore, five, of Menard, fractured his left arm after being thrown against a car panel. The 1950 Ford Sedan driven by Dr. Hugh W. Martin of Menard collided with a Highway truck driven by Avery Stewart. none of the other passengers were injured. The car was badly damaged and the truck escaped damage. Jones recently replaced H G Palmer who moved to Brownwood.

In July the Justice Court collected only 140 in fines as four men paid six fines. Asa Eugene Cunningham paid 44 on two traffic counts speeding and failed appearance. Andres Abilez paid 23 for public drunkenness. John Andrew Boyd paid 16 for driving on the left. Marian Roy Leveridge paid 21 for fishing with illegal tackle.

Fredericksburg delegates visited Junction to promote the 62nd Gillespie County Fair set for Friday through Sunday August 18 19 and 20. The visiting party included prominent business and professional leaders led by H L Durst and featured the Happy Go Lucky Boys entertainment group. The Fredericksburg Rotary Club organized the delegation along with other civic clubs to invite nearby communities.
