Topography Work In Texas Will Cease
Funds for topographic surveys in Texas have fallen short and U S Geological Survey reps will withdraw within 30 days except for joint stream measurement work. Conservation groups seek a Legislature appropriation to renew surveys and locate a dam site near Junction in Kimble County to store water for irrigation of about 40 000 acres. With only 5000 available next year no major surveys will occur before 1927 unless emergency funds are provided.
