American Legion Auxiliary Selects 1949 Girls State Delegate
The local American Legion Auxiliary voted April 8 to send a high school girl to the 1949 Bluebonnet Girls State in Austin from June 5 to 11. The unit will pay $26 for the participant and plans to accommodate 185 attendees at the Texas School for the Blind. More applications are expected than spots, but the local winner is assured a place before outside groups are considered. Also approved was a supper for the Eastern Star on April 14 at the Legion Hut.
