April Showers Boost Ranchers as Texas WAAC Sees Cadet
The first April shower brought .94 inches, following a 1.5 inch rain two weeks earlier, lifting spirits of ranchers. Miss Ruby Whitworth, daughter of W. H. and Mrs. Whitworth, finished WAAC enrollment and awaits active duty after four years college work at the University of Texas. Verlan Skaggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Skaggs, was named instructor in the Tractor and Tank Division at Camp Normoyle San Antonio, the youngest in the camp, with prior instruction in diesel engines for overseas service.
