GHECK FORGER CAUGHT AT HOTEL ROYAL IN ST PAUL

A wanted hotel crook known as W C Townsend registered at the Hotel Royal posing as from Los Angeles and spent the night. He handed a $50 check for payment that clerk refused without endorsement. He was identified by Mr Holbrook and others as a known crook listed in Hotel World. Townsend jailed after a train delay and found with two forged checks from Los Angeles and a blank New York check. He claims hardship but is a known morphine user traveling with false identities. He is about 30, 5 ft 10 in, 150 pounds, wanted in St Paul Denver and Los Angeles.
