Col Lambert Dies Today at Winter Home in California
Colonel John Lambert, financier and longtime Joliet benefactor, died this morning at 4:15 at his Pasadena winter home from pneumonia complications. Born 1847 in Lambertville, he served in the Civil War and later aided Joliet institutions including the public library and Silver Cross hospital. His death ends a career as a steel industry pioneer and civic organizer active in Joliet since 1870.

County Recovers Major State Road Refund For Will County
Will County treasurer Ben D. Jones received more than 182 000 dollars as part of a 204 000 dollar state refund for state aid road construction. Officials of the Chicago and Joliet Electric railway and street car men reached a supplemental agreement to raise pay by 5 cents per hour for one man car operators. City lines 55¢, Lockport and Lyons 53½¢, extra men 50¢ for first three months, 53¢ next nine months, 55¢ after one year. Farm House Roof Damaged By Fire
