Three men sought for brutal assault on German man

An outrage occurred near Sharpshooters' grounds on Sunday. James Murphy, John Keely, and a youth named Guire allegedly assaulted a German man, beating him with fists and stones after an initial beer exchange. A plate-sized stone cut his face. the attackers fled, at large, with authorities urged to arrest them.

Anniversary fete honors Conductor J C Greenman at home

Riverside Press reports the 11th day anniversary of Conductor J C Greenman of the Chicago and Alton railroad held at his residence in Louisi ana. About sixty guests from Mexico Mo Washington Ill and other areas attended a generous gathering with gifts including a gold headed ebony cane and silver tea set. The host and hostess were praised for their hospitality and the event as one of the season’s most pleasant social occasions.
