Grand Opera House Minstrels Delight Toronto Crowd
Last evening at the Grand Opera House Smith Waldron Morton and Martin’s Big Four Minstrels performed before a large audience. The show featured grotesque dancing, ballad singing by Heywood and Stanley, comic songs by Armstrong and Morton, banjo solos by Harry Stanwood, and musical specialties by Kine and Weston Brothers. The troupe’s negro sketches drew strong applause and the performance, to be repeated tonight, was praised as ahead of many minstrel companies. Look out for the Big Four at the Opera House next Saturday.
