Knights of Pythias Mark 17th Anniversary Event

The Knights of Pythias lodge in the city celebrates its 17th anniversary on the 19th with a meeting at the hall Monday night to plan a programme. The lodge is thriving and hopes to stage a full uniform street parade on that day.

Stone City Pleasure Club Hosts Flourishing Munroe’s Hall Party

The Stone City Pleasure Club held a well attended party at Munroe’s Hall on Friday night with about fifty couples. Music pleased guests and Thos Creevy’s supper was a standout feature. It was the club’s first event in nearly two years, and organizers are urged to continue hosting similar occasions.

A Joliet inquiry reports Mr. J. C. Cogan and his son Charles consider locating a West cutlery factory here. Proposals offer a free three year building, tax payment, 1000 cash for fit up, plus later options and rent after three years. Sanger & Moody may build a power ready plant near the Jefferson street bridge. A public meeting at the Court House next Monday urged by local merchants to secure the enterprise and spur a city boom.
