The meeting will be held in Taylor Opera House and the presidential candidate will stay for about an hour. It is to be a convention of Democratic delegates of the State with seating expected to be at a premium. Bryan has spoken in New Jersey before but never in Trenton. James W. Lanning Mercer county state committeeman is handling local arrangements. A band will be engaged for a rousing meeting. Bryan spends two days campaigning in New Jersey with whirlwind tours including Camden Burlington and possibly Jersey City. October 9 will see him in several smaller towns and Newark. Senator Johnston Cornish of Warren county directs Bryan's New Jersey itinerary. Ex Governor David B Hin of New York is to address a mass meeting in Newark October 6.
At the Patma Club opening meeting of the Jersey City Chess Club officers were unanimously chosen Rev E L Stoddard as president J R Chambers as vice president Wim J Paul as treasurer and A F Kennedy as secretary The club plans a prosperous year with growing membership and an early September meeting scheduled at 8 PM in the Palma Club quarters.
Miss Losey of Belmont avenue Jersey City seeks 20000 damages from North Jersey Street Railway Company after claiming she was thrown to the street when a Newark car started suddenly while she attempted to alight at The Junction.
