A large Davis Association political parade winds through Jersey City with over three thousand marchers in white hats and badges, drawing Republican spectators along the route. Observers describe widespread enthusiasm and heavy crowds as the procession moves past key streets toward the Davis clubhouse.
A lively Davis Association parade in Newark drew crowds lining streets from Mercer to Montgomerie with flags bunting and enthusiastic cheers for Hudson’s leader amid remarks by Mayor Seymour and notable figures including ex mayor Hoos and Sheriff Knempler. The day planned a Donnelly breakfast on College Point Grove, athletic contests, dinners, and an evening return procession past the Davis club house with fireworks and a bid to reciprocate Republican courtesy.
Long before eight oclock crowds of Davis supporters from Hoboken and across the county converged on the Mercer street clubhouse for the outing parade. Flowers were pinned to coats, hats were tried, and volunteers handed out bats and badges as the line formed along Grove Mercer streets. Standard Bearer Davis led the head of the march at nine thirty amid cheering bands and festive decorations.
Allan L. Mwdermott nicknamed the Marshal Ney of the New Jersey Democracy led a parade through York and Grove streets toward City Hall. Mayor Fagan watched from the steps as the line passed, with Dickinson attendees on sidewalks and in windows. Republican officials noted the friendly crowd and the Davis Association received praise for the event.
A large crowd of nearly 3,000 formed a parade in front of headquarters en route to the ferry. Men wore two shades of fedora, carried flowers, and badges bearing Mr Day’s portrait. The crowd sent greetings to Mr Davis as the procession moved along with orderly marching and festive display.
A large crowd lined Montgomery Street as a parade honoring local figures passed. Citizens cheered familiar names including Mr. Davis and Sheriff candidates, while windows of major buildings framed the procession. Presidents, bankers, and lawyers stood among onlookers, saluting and offering praise as the procession moved toward Endson Street.
