Officers and members of the Jersey City Fire Department received new dark blue Prince Henry caps with a black leather visor. Assemblyman Cummings Stricken By Stroke in New York

Assemblyman Frederick Cummings of West Orange is seriously ill at St. Vincent’s Hospital New York after a stroke. He was stricken while boarding a Broadway street car toward Christopher Street ferry and remained unconscious until the next morning. Doctors report hopeful signs of recovery pending further events. Mrs. Cummings remains at the hospital with him.

Damaging the Park Triggers Lafayette Ball Field Protests

Lafayette residents upset after a new park dedicated a week ago attracted forty plus youths who play ball there daily. Trees along Manning avenue bent or damaged by running into them, prompting plans for a committee from the eleventh ward to petition the Street and Water Board to restrict games to safer areas and protect the young trees.

Port Richmond Ferry Co Elects Directors and Officers

The Port Richmond and Bergen Point Ferry Company held its annual meeting at Port Richmond offices. Directors elected included John D. Crimming Albert G Jennings Edward F C Young William G Shailer and Edward N Hil. The board then elected officers with John D Crimmins named president and Raward N Hill as treasurer.

Hands Crushed In Toy Warehouse Accident In New York

John Johnson thirty years old of 103 Steuben street suffered severe hand injuries at National Storage Warehouse in Black Tom. Both hands were crushed with a left middle finger torn away. He remains at City Hospital in agony as doctors assess salvaging his right hand. He was freed after his hands were caught between the elevator shaft and rising elevator. He fainted from blood loss and was moved to a bed while wounds were treated. Police notified. operation pending recovery.
