Mrs William Winberry hosted a Friday evening gathering at No 45 Montgomery Street with progressive euchre and prizes for Miss Lauretta Purcell Miss May Belle Burns Miss Anna Melosh Miss Florence Carroll and others. Guests included Florence Carroll Hattie Carroll Tillie Ingerson May Belle Burns Agnes Harrison and many more. Dancing followed supper with decor of emilax and bunting and reception assisted by Miss Florence Carroll and Miss Carroll.
The St Bridget's Homan Catholic Church congregation on Montgomery Street welcomed Rev. James Mooney from St. Cecelia's Kearny. He delivered a well received lecture at St. Patrick and the church was suitably decorated for the occasion.
A patriotic program by parish talent at St Bridget's Church raised funds on Saturday evening. Attendance surpassed the opening night, with better turnout and community support noted.

Old St Patrick's in Mowak drew prominent church leaders for the golden Jubilee of its dedication and silver Jubilee of its consecration. Archbishops and bishops officiated a pontifical high mass with a 60 strong choir and 15 piece orchestra. The sermon by Bishop Bernard J. McQuaid celebrated Newark Catholic history and urged Catholics to seek educational rights and eventually suffrage for women.
Mev James Zonnally of St Patrick’s Cathedral and Rev Dr Brant of St Annes visit for a grand mass in New York. Chancellor Georer Doane O’Neill and many priests from nearby parishes attend the ceremony. A banquet follows at school bath with an elaborate program led by Arganis William. Caluindra Quartette and soloists perform with an augmented choir and orchestra. Afternoon celebration for parish children at Mary’s Academy.
The Young Men’s Christian Association held an unusually interesting meeting yesterday at the North Baptist Church chapel. Mr Swaffield delivered an eloquent address on God’s Forgiveness based on Psalm 103. The audience closely attentive, and the gathering will be continued in the chapel. Directors will meet Wednesday evening to discuss important business. The Bible class, led by the General Secretary, will study “Interview of Desis with Sinon” this week. The Debating and Literary Society plans a debate on March 4 with the Young Men’s Institute of New York in Jersey City rooms with a prominent lawyer as judge. It will be open to visitors including ladies.
The Orpheus Zither Circle held a successful celebration at 28 Pall Mall avenue Saturday night marking the ball's achievement. Rooms were well decorated and supper was served at midnight. Attendees included Emma Dieffenbach, Bulla Poletta, Louise Bruger, Mollie Kirchher, Jennie Kuntz, Hanna Dieffenbach, Minnie Wachter, Lottie Wagner, Kern, Edna Yee, Tillie Kern, Emil Gottschalek, William Mehl, Rudolph Stack, Vermant Trabinger, Herman Miller, Charles Scott, Harry Tresouthwick, J Burhels, Frederick Brede, Herman Master, William Hester.
U S children were rewarded by the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greenville after a recent cantata. About seventy five children attended the Saturday afternoon event in the Sunday school room of the new edifice at McAdoo Avenue and the Boulevard. Ladies prepared good things and workers from Bethurah waited on the youngsters throughout the day. An informal entertainment followed with children and church members participating.
Colonel Smith to issue the order for the Fourth Fest ment review and reception tonight. The event will be March 4 at the State Camp in Sexirl. General Spencer will present medals to members who qualified last summer on the ranges. Colonel Smith will command the review and a non commissioned officer will control the floor during the reception. A large gathering is expected with limited admission per ticket holder.
The body of Margaret Wellhoper aged sixty six was found dead in the office of Caten & Cy box manufacturers on Saturday night by Night Watchman Adam Christman. Cause reported as heart disease while she cleaned the office. Her son George Wellman accompanied the body to her home at No. 2 Jumex Avenue.
The Anchor Association, a group of Civienian Hugo Och supporters from Hybokeny, gathered at Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday for a well attended, enjoyable ball. Moor manager Charles Porter led the event with assistance from William Ryan, as the crowd enjoyed the social highlight of the season.

A festive apron and necktie sociable by Favorite Bowling Club at Liederkranz Hall drew a large crowd with a grand march led by Charles Carter and Mrs. Franke. The seventy year old Charles Skelly, longtime cook on the canal boat Willem Harris, was found dead in his cabin at Otorris Can Basin yesterday morning from heart failure. Captain John Smith, who discovered the body, notified authorities and the corpse was taken to Speer's morgue after coroner Dr. Verse was informed.
