Brandt witnessed the theft. Neilson, a very large man, allegedly threatened the officer. Brandt had four warrants for petit larceny issued. he confronted Neilson on a Summit Avenue car and arrested him. Neilson claimed he took the papers as a joke. The court imposed the $5 fine.
The Board of Education awarded the Union Hill schoolhouse contract to Robert J. Dixon of New York. Second prize went to 8 M. Holden and the Olzd hest prize to Thomas Trotter Jr of this city. The board praised Trotter for his designs amid belief he won second prize.
Sadge Parker of the First District Court of Jersey City was defeated last night for Solicitor of Bayonne Building Association No. 2 by nine to four. His opponent was James Benny of Jersey City. Parker named his law partner De Witt Van Buskirk, the solicitor twenty years for the association.
William H. Boffey, editor, of 44 Storm Avenue, faces Police Justice Murphy this morning on a charge described as martial quarrel. His wife accuses him of smashing furniture and assault. witnesses note interference and other domestic incidents. The couple’s grown children reportedly send $10 weekly to support the household.
Patrick Johnson, lineman for New York and New Jersey Telephone, was fatally shocked when a high tension wire looped around him during line work on Bull's Perry Road and Bergenline Avenue. Eight men, including Johnson on Park Avenue Hoboken, were stringing a new wire. the accident caused a massive current transfer to the telephone line. Johnson was rescued after fellow workers cut the wire, revived by Dr Justin, and rushed home gravely injured.

A boy fell from the carriage, was cut on the head, and taken to Bayonne Hospital before being moved. The horse ran several blocks, wrecking the carriage, and was captured by William Clark. The father escaped serious injury.
